County Fair Engagement Photos

When the temperatures start to drop (come on, mother nature!) and the leaves begin to fall from the trees, I find myself getting sentimental about our engagement photos. We got engaged in December 2013, and as I was determined to have our photos taken at the fair, we waited until a month before the wedding to have these made.

For some, that might be cutting it a little too close, but for me — well, if you know me, this isn’t actually all that surprising...But! Our save the dates were a graphic that I customized, and we weren’t looking to send out photos of us with them. So we treated this as an opportunity for a fun photoshoot!

Full disclosure: our engagement season (and subsequently our wedding) was met with a lot of stress and major life changes. Maybe I’ll write about that at some point. But our amazing photographers, Brad and Jen, were able to pull us out of it all — even if just for a moment — and create a really playful and special moment for us amidst the chaos.

Years later, these are still my favorite photos we’ve ever had taken. We look so happy and carefree! I only have 4 photos of us printed and hung around the house, and 3 of them are from this shoot.

So as next month is our 5 year anniversary, I thought I would share some of these never-before-seen pictures with you! Enjoy!
